Rain Does Not Dampen the Ford Spirit at Fall Event

When it rains, it pours… with lovely people!

Even though the rain foiled most of our outdoor plans, a large turnout of Ford Scholar, Opportunity and ReStart alumni enjoyed the first hard rain of the season at this year’s fall event on Saturday, Sept. 17.

Instead of meeting at Bauman Farms as in years past, the event was held at Jensen Family Farms, a small farm in Salem, where admission was free and alumni and their families had the chance to meet up and enjoy the company of other Ford Alumni members.

The event was originally scheduled to be held outdoors by the pond where people could fish, swim and play lawn games, but the gathering was moved inside due to weather conditions. Although activities were limited, plenty of food and conversations were shared, and the kids played outdoors when the rain let up periodically.

Thanks to all of you who showed up and brought food to our event. It meant a lot that you all ventured out, even in the rain. It was wonderful to see so many Ford Opportunity and ReStart faces; we love having alumni from all programs join us at our events.

We hope the weather wasn’t too much of a deterrent, and we’ll see you all again soon at our upcoming events!
