The Spring FSAA board meeting was held on April 9 at Stoel Rives, in Portland\u2019s Park Avenue West building. Technical difficulties lead to a delayed start, but once underway it was a productive meeting. The sitting board members were joined by the newly elected board members, who got a chance to talk about their experience with, and give feedback on, the election process.<\/p>\n

The Communications and Events Committees provided reports on past events and projects as well as upcoming initiatives. The reports included the updated website, the launch of the e-newsletter, and recaps of MLK Day and Earth Day Service projects.<\/p>\n

A couple of things you can look forward to this summer are the launch of the new magazine-style annual report, and the fourth annual alumni get-together. The annual report, expected to print in June, will contain information about and from The Ford Family Foundation, service events, and highlights of what some of our fellow alumni are doing around the world. This year\u2019s alumni get-together will be happening the weekend of July 29th, in Central Oregon.<\/p>\n

Upcoming projects to be rolled out in 2017-2018 include an alumni mentor program, engagement survey, and a drive to encourage all alumni to update email and mailing addresses.<\/p>\n

This meeting concluded with the passing on of the gavel from outgoing FSAA president Kirsten Yamada, to Rozalyn Patrick, the newly elected president.\u00a0 Kirsten is stepping down early to complete her master\u2019s in teaching and prepare for the arrival of her first child in July.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
