Alumni Leadership Council Applications Open!

Applications are now available for the Ford Family Foundation Alumni Leadership Council. You can access the application here. Applications are due at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, June 7, 2021.

The Ford Family Foundation Alumni Leadership Council is currently recruiting applicants for open positions on the Council. The Council partners with the Foundation to lead alumni-focused initiatives. The Council replaces what was formerly know as the Ford Scholar Alumni Association, which dissolved in February 2021. If you have a passion for helping others and want to connect with other alumni while developing your personal and professional skills, then this is the opportunity for you!

Positions Open for the Alumni Leadership Council 2021-2024 Term
This year there are four open positions from the 13 total positions on the Council. The Council core leadership (Chair, Chair-Elect, and Historian) are selected by the Council from both new applicants and returning council members. If you are interested in being considered for a core leadership position, you can indicate that on the form below and we will follow up with a link to the addendum questions.
Required Qualifications

Alumni of the Ford Scholars, Ford ReStart, and Ford Opportunity scholarship programs are eligible to apply for any of the open positions. No previous experience is needed. You do NOT have to live in Oregon to serve; you can attend council meetings via teleconference or online video communications.

Those selected for the Council will serve three-year terms and must be committed to attending quarterly council meetings and sit on a committee which meets monthly. The quarterly council meetings are held in different locations each quarter and via Zoom.

Council members will serve for a term of three years, beginning in June. All new members are required to attend a virtual New Council Member Orientation. They also have the opportunity to meet with their predecessor at the Summer Council meeting (July 10th). New Council members will be added to our online team collaboration tools before their term begins to become familiar with important organizational documents and operations.

How to apply

1. Complete the online Ford Alumni Leadership Council Application. Character limits are displayed in the description text under the name of each item.

2. You must submit this form and have all application materials in by 11:59 PM (PST) on Monday, June 7th, 2021 to be considered for a Council position.

3. The nominating committee will review the applications and create a slate to be presented to the current Alumni Leadership Council for confirmation. The nominating committee will conduct phone or Zoom interviews with applicants if necessary.
